Joe has worked with us for more than a year now and it has been an absolute pleasure. Joe is nationally renowned as an expert on the needs of disabled LGBT+ young people. Joe worked with us on the SEND LGBT+ project which was hugely successful and impactful. As well as being an expert and a pleasure to work with, she is a totally lovely person with a real commitment to young LGBT+ people and their engagement and empowerment. I have the utmost respect for Joe both personally and professionally. Her commitment to equality and inclusion related to disability and LGBT+ intersectionality is invaluable to our work in Nottinghamshire, as is her commitment to anti-racism work in relation to pupils with SEND. Joe brings the same expertise to a cross-authority working party developing advice, guidance and resources for schools in respect of LGBT+ pupils and their families. She is open to new learning and shows herself to be innovative and resilient, finding the positives in whatever situation she is confronted with.
